The White Pines Wolverines used their explosive running attack to cruise past the Korah Colts on Saturday afternoon to close the High School Football League regular season.

Alanzo Clarke rushed for 280 yards and scored three touchdowns to help the Wolverines to a 35-0 senior division win over the Colts at Rocky DiPietro Field.

Clarke, who captured the league's rushing title with 809 yards on the season, scored on runs of 63 and 28 yards before hauling in a 17 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Justin Wensley.

Tom Sywstun, who added 82 yards rushing on 14 carries, added a two yard touchdown run and Gary Leith scampered five yards for a major score. Matt Santos booted five converts.

Matt Connors anchored a solid Wolverines defense with 12 tackles and a fumble recovery. Josh Reed recorded 5.5 tackles and a sack, Matt Ritchie five tackles and Kellan Paat 4.5 tackles and two fumble recoveries. Andy Downing and Tyler Kostiuk each pulled down an interception.

For the Colts, who were held to 149 yards of offense, were led by Greg Nanne, who rushed for 92 yards on 22 carries.

Defensively, Luke Critchley led with 11.5 tackles and two fumble recoveries. Nick Pozzebon made 6.5 tackles and a fumble recovery while Matt Vernelli added six tackles and Riley King 5.5.

*** JUNIOR:

In junior division action on Saturday morning, the Colts defeated White Pines 22-14. Adam Delayer scored two touchdowns and added a two point convert for the Colts while Dylan O'Hara added another touchdown and Jordan Lang a two point convert.

Adrian Vilaca scored a touchdown and a two point convert while Jared Nylander also scored for the Wolverines.
