People interested in getting or staying fit can "get their sweat on" while assisting students studying at Sault College.
Staff, students and community members are being encouraged to support the college's Fitness and Health Promotion students by joining their free lunchtime group fitness classes.
Beginning Sept. 18, classes will run Monday to Thursday from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. in Room A1080 at Sault College and they are free to attend, the college said in a news release.
"Through these classes, students will further develop the knowledge and skills they have gained through their learning and your participation will be an important part of this growth," the college said.
A variety of classes will be offered:
- Monday: HIIT with Heidi
- Tuesday: Core Love
- Wednesday: TBC Total Body Circuit
- Thursday: Hi-Low Cardio
A full description of the classes is available at www.saultcollege.ca/freegroupfitness.
Every class is modifiable to different abilities and fitness levels, according to the release.
“With the start of the new year, we are excited to welcome community members to our group fitness classes to further support our students in their learning and help participants achieve their health goals," said Heather Pusch, Fitness and Health Promotion professor.
"Students will have an opportunity to observe, participate, and lead classes to help them grow as Fitness and Health professionals. Participants can join us once a week or four times a week.”
All participants must complete a Get Active Questionnaire before joining their first class. Forms can also be filled out in person before your first class.
Parking is available in the visitor metered parking off Northern Avenue or in the visitor daily parking lot subject to the appropriate cost. See the campus map for details.
