Cheque Presentation To Canadian Tire JumpStart

On Wednesday, August 8th, SUPA (the Sault Ultimate Players Association) presented a cheque and cash totaling $579 to the Canadian Tire JumpStart Program.

In attendance was be Debbie Bouchard, representing Canadian Tire, Lorie Springall of Sault Sports Council (local JumpStart Coordinator) and players from the Frisbee League.

This is the second year in a row the Sault Ultimate Frisbee League has elected to donate proceeds from their annual pasta dinner fundraiser to the Canadian Tire JumpStart Program. The money is used to provide funding for children aged 4-18 from low-income families to participate in local sports and recreation activities.

"What makes this donation extra special is the fact that SUPA is doing this for no other reason than a desire to help out others less fortunate," said JumpStart Coordinator, Lorie Springall. "With their league accommodating players over the age of 18, they get nothing in return for this. How admirable is that? It's the "ultimate" in generosity and they should all be very proud."

As a result of SUPA's donation, more local kids will benefit from the extra funds in the JumpStart coffers.

For more details on the JumpStart Program, please contact: Lorie Springall, Sports Council Coordinator/JumpStart Coordinator at the Sault Sports Council Office (759-5309) or by e-mail at [email protected].
