Thursday's high school basketball results

The Korah Colts and Bawating Braves swept a pair of games on Thursday night while St. Marys and St. Basil split their match up in Girls High Basketball League action.

At Sir James Dunn, Christina Medaglia scored 11 points while Jaclyn Cummings and Angie Dobbs added eight each to lead the Colts past the Eagles 49-25 in senior division action. Stephanie Davies led the Dunn with nine points and April Marinich had seven.

In junior, the Colts scored a 52-36 win led by 16 points from Kayla Odorizzi and 14 from Jessica Bauer. Meghan DiAngelo replied with eight points for the Eagles.

At Bawating, the Braves held off the White Pines Wolverines in overtime 29-26 for a senior division victory. Amanda Whitmell drained 12 points for the winners while Sarah Chiarello added nine. Ashley Clingen topped the Wolverines with 11 points.

Brooke Beacock's 27 point performance led the Braves to a 42-19 decision in junior. Stephanie Leask and Emily Cormier added six points each for Bawating while Chelsea Clingen poured in 10 for the Wolverines.

At St. Basil, the Saints opened the day with a 29-18 win over the St. Mary's Knights in junior before the Knights took the senior contest 56-26.

Corrina Bruni led the junior Saints with 12 points while Angela Bruni added 10. Katie Babcock scored eight points for Knights and Melissa Thibeault six.

Kathleen Thorburn dropped 14 points for the Knights in senior, Kira Favaro added 11 while Stephanie Colizza and Jen Thibeault added eight each. Samantha Rainone replied with a game high 17 points for the Saints and Abby DiDonato added eight.
