The Korah Colts needed a shot in the dying seconds of the game to defeat the St. Basil Saints and improve to 2-0 in the senior division after the first week of action in the Girls High School Basketball League.

Sarah Levesque nailed the game winner as the Colts claimed the 38-36 win at St. Basil. Christina Medaglia led Korah with 12 points and Kaitlyn Train added seven. Katie Larue replied with 11 points for the Saints while Lara Stilin and Amanda Vernelli added eight each.

In junior, Lauren Wozny's 19 points led St. Basil past the Colts 43-30. Angela Bruni and Corina Bruni added six points each for the winners while Jessica Bauer, with 12 points, and Kristen Genomi, with eight points, topped the Colts.

At Sir James Dunn, Bridget Hindermeier scored 15 points and Ashley Clingen 12 to lead the White Pines Wolverines past the Eagles 46-39. Sarah Miller led SJD with 12 points and Emilie Kozak added nine.

Leeann Schildroth's 12 points led the junior Eagles past White Pines 54-25. Allison Marinich added nine points for the winners and Carissa Holley replied with 12 points for the Wolverines.

At Mount St. Joseph College, the St. Mary's Knights also improved to 2-0 in the senior division with a 43-30 win over the Royals.

Kathleen Thorburn poured in 12 points to lead the Knights while Brittany Denneny and Kira Favaro added nine each. Vanessa Chaimbrone replied with 10 points and Erin Hurd eight for the Mount.
