Thunderbirds winning streak snapped

The Rayside-Balfour Canadians scored twice in the third period to beat the Soo Thunderbirds on Friday night

Despite leading heading into the third period, the Soo Thunderbirds had their four-game winning streak snapped on Friday night.

Goals by Christopher Clark and Zachary Snow in the third period as the Rayside-Balfour Canadians beat the Thunderbirds 3-2 Friday at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

Snow and Benjamin Hantanaka had a goal and an assist each for the Canadians. Mitchell Martin assisted on a pair of goals.

Goaltender David Bowen stopped 18 shots.

Nick Smith and Mackenzie Walkington had a goal and an assist each for the Thunderbirds.

Goaltender Colin Ahern stopped 26 shots.

The loss drops the Thunderbirds record to 8-8-1-2.

Rayside improves to 12-4-1-1.

The Thunderbirds return to action on Saturday night on the road against the Espanola Express.
