An event next Saturday at Algoma University will raise awareness and funds for breast cancer.

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will face off against the University of Windsor in the annual USports Shoot for the Cure.

The Thunderbirds’ games take place on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the George Leach Centre, with the women tipping off at 3 p.m., followed by the men at 5 p.m.

“During halftime at the women’s game, with support from Sault College Hairstyling, volunteers will be getting their hair cut,” said organizers in a news release.

“During the men’s game, coaches and administration staff will be getting pied in the face.”

Donations can be made in person or on the event’s fundraising page.

Those heading to the games are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
