Thunderbirds end losing streak in Sudbury

The Soo Thunderbirds ended a four-game losing streak with an overtime victory on the road Wednesday night.

In Sudbury, Dylan King scored the winner 2:19 into overtime as the Thunderbirds edged the Junior Wolves 2-1 in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action.

The Thunderbirds had lost 10 of their last 11 games going into the contest.

Adam Kauppi scored the lone first period goal to give the Soo a 1-0 lead while Brenden Biedermann countered for Sudbury in the second frame.

The Thunderbirds, who have six games remaining in the regular season, are back in action on Saturday in the Michigan Sault at the Pullar Stadium against the Indians.
