The Soo Greyhounds are on a roll with three wins in a row, the latest triumph being a hard-fought 3-2 decision over the tough Sarnia Sting before 2,832 fans at Memorial Gardens on Sunday night.

Overage goalie Adam Munro had a big game for the Hounds in keeping the game during the first period. The Sting led 1-0 after the first on a goal by Danny Fritsche but could have had more if not for the work of Munro.

In the second period the Greyhounds came out and played with the same intensity that helped them beat the Guelph Storm on Friday night.

That intensity helped the Hounds build up a 3-1 lead on goals by Jeff Doyle, newly-acquired Mike Amodeo overage winger and rookie defenceman Jiri Drtina.

The Sting made the game close late in the third period on an Aaron Power goal that found its way through traffic and into the Greyhound goal at 18:35 but it was a case of too little, too late as the locals held on to win the game 3-2.

The win improves the Greyhounds record to 10-17-3-1, good for 24 points. The Sting record, with the loss, drops to 18-6-2-1. Sarnia is 0-2-1 against the Hounds this season.

Next action for the Greyhounds will be this weekend as they embark on a three-game road trip that will see them make stops in Sarnia on Thursday, Plymouth on Saturday and Windsor on Sunday.

Next home action for the Greyhounds will be on Dec. 11 when the Sudbury Wolves are in town.
