The Sault Steelers resume their bid for a Northern Football Conference regular season title on Saturday night by hosting the second-year Sarnia Imperials beginning at 7 p.m. at Rocky DiPietro Field.

Riding a three-game winning streak and holding a 3-1 record at the midpoint of the regular season, the Steelers are coming off a bye week and remain in the thick of the race for first place.

The Steelers are currently sitting in a tie for third place with Sarnia and the Oshawa Hawkeyes with six points. The Oakville Longhorns also have six points but have played one more game.

The Toronto Raiders and Tri-City Outlaws currently share first place at 4-1.

At the end of the eight game regular season, the top eight teams in the 10-team loop will qualify for the playoffs, which begin August 4.

Following Sarnia, the Steelers visit Oshawa on July 14, host the Milton Marauders, who are winless through four games, on July 21 and travel to Sarnia on July 28.
