The Sault Steelers capped their home portion of the regular season schedule with another convincing win on Saturday night at Rocky DiPietro Field.

Led by three touchdown runs from Josh Gauthier and two more by Chris Tulloch, the Steelers rolled past the Toronto Raiders 49-3.

The Steelers now have a record of 6-1 with their Northern Football Conference regular season finale scheduled for next Saturday in Toronto against the Maddogs.

The Steelers controlled the game from the opening kickoff and built a 28-3 lead by the half.

Tulloch on a four yard run, Ron Kelly with an 11 yard reception from quarterback Travis McLean and Gauthier with runs of one and five yards scored touchdowns in the opening half.

In the second half, Noah Rushon hauled in a 13 yard pass for the score while Gauthier added a 55 yard touchdown run and Tulloch scampered in from six yards out.

Nick Pedersen kicked all seven converts for the Steelers while Toronto's lone points came from an 11 yard field goal by Ben Yellowlees.

Gauthier ran for a game high 103 yards on 13 carries while Tulloch added 44 yards on nine attempts.

McLean completed eight of 20 passes for 98 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Matt Premo caught two passes for 53 yards and Rushon three for 22 yards.

Defensively, the Steelers were anchored by Brandon Lewis, who recorded six tackles and a sack while forcing a fumble and recovering another.

Jason Giosa added 5.5 tackles, Russ Moyle 3.5 plus a sack, Matt Gauthier 3.5 tackles and a fumble recovery while Robert Southwind also recovered a fumble.
