Special ticket package introduced for Provenzano Cup

Organizers of the Carmen Provenzano Memorial Cup have finalized a ticket package for this season's Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League games between the Soo Thunderbirds and Blind River Beavers that will be played at John Rhodes Community Centre.

For $40, those wishing to purchase a special pass to the five games between the Thunderbirds and Beavers at the Rhodes Centre will get five tickets and a Carmen Provenzano Memorial Cup t-shirt.

This season will mark the debut of the Carmen Provenzano Memorial Cup, which honours the late former Sault MP, who passed away suddenly on July 27 of this year from a heart attack.

All together, the Thunderbirds and Blind River will play 10 regular-season games -- five here, five in Blind River -- with the winner of the season series taking home the Provenzano Cup. The first game between the two teams will be on Fri. Sept. 16 at the Rhodes Centre.
