Week four is in the books in the Sault Minor Football Association with action in both the tyke and bantam divisions.

The bantam division saw both games decided by less than eight points.

In the opening bantam game, Matt Wagner was the hero picking up a single point off of a 30-yard punt late in the game to seal a 7-6 victory for Brody's over Firefighter's. Kyle Mammarella scored the Brody's touchdown.

In the other bantam division game, Scholar's Learning squeaked out an 8-0 victory over Aurora's. Running back Travis Zorzit broke three tackles and drove down the right sideline for a 45-yard touchdown run for the difference maker.

Up until that point, which was late in the game, defence was the work of the day as both teams played sound defensively.

Tyke division action in week four saw two games end in shutouts while the other ended in a somewhat unexpected fashion.

The first tyke game of the day saw Tingrins take advantage of a shorthanded Clean Gear and pick up a 42-0 win.

Greg Gagnon led the way for Tingrins with five touchdownns including four rushing and one receiving. Quarterback Bryan Greco added a rushing touchdown to complete the scoring.

Jared Theriault had a strong day defensively for Tingrins with one forced fumble along with two fumble recoveries.

Game two in the tyke division saw Membercare pick up a last second 14-14 tie against Rome's as John Wardlaw scored on a 40-yard run to clinch the tie.

Spencer MacGillivary scored the other Membercare touchdown while Christian Mahler scored both Rome's touchdowns.

The final game of the week, a depleted G.P. Flakeboard dropped a 36-0 decision to Sports Gold. David McNally led the way with three touchdowns, while Brock Hoover chipped in with two. Quarterback Mario Bruni completed the Sports Gold scoring with a rushing touchdown.

Action continues in the SMFA on Sunday with a full complement of games at Queen Elizabeth Field.

*** WEEK THREE:

In the tyke division, the most exciting game without a doubt was the Tingrins 36-29 victory over Membercare.

Bryan Greco was the hero for Tingrins completing a 25-yard touchdown pass to Kristian Prasek to tie the game at 29-29 before scoring on a quarterback sneak with just four seconds left on the clock to win the game for Tingrins.

Jared Theriault also chipped in with two touchdowns for Tin Grins.

Other week three action in the tyke division saw Marc Cuglietta score two touchdowns to go along with a Zac Dodds touchdown as Clean Gear upended G.P. Flakeboard 21-15.

Tony Butorac and Matthew Fitton each scored touchdowns in the loss.

The final tyke division game in week three saw Rome's pick up a 28-8 victory over Sports Gold to remain undefeated.

Joshua Fritz led the way for Rome's as he returned two interceptions back for touchdowns, one from 60 yards and the other from 70 yards out.

In the first bantam division game in week three, the Firefighters rolled to a 36-0 win over Scholar's Learning.

Offensively Kevin and Ryan Fratesi each scored two touchdowns while Lauri Gieni added a touchdown and two interceptions in the win.

The other bantam game saw a rarity in football as Brody's and Aurora's battled to a 0-0 tie.

Kyle Mammarella, Jarvis Milne and Brian Babic each had strong games defensively for Brody's while Aurora's received stellar efforts from Brandon Davidson, Dylan Vanderklift, and Dustin Maier on defence.
