Sir James Dunn sweeps Husky Invitational

Central Algoma Secondary School hosted the 30th Husky Invitational Basketball Tournament this past weekend and Sir James Dunn won both the senior and junior championships. Sir James Dunn defeated CASS 47-40 in the senior final.

Central Algoma Secondary School hosted the 30th Husky Invitational Basketball Tournament this past weekend and Sir James Dunn won both the senior and junior championships.

Sir James Dunn defeated CASS 47-40 in the senior final. The scored was 16-16 at the half. Jamie Weldon had 25 points for the Eagles while Rob Hurley had 10 for the Huskies.

In the consolation final, W.C. Eaket defeated Bawating 55-49. Marcel Rifou and Chad Fitzpatrick had 12 points each for the Royals while Ryan Lecuyer had 15for the Braves.

In the semi-final game, CASS defeated Bawating 56-46. In other games, SJD defeated Bawating 48-32, CASS upended Eaket 72-25, SJD beat Eaket 66-38 and Bawating nipped CASS 56-44.

In the junior championship, Sir James Dunn defeated CASS 54-37. Danny MacDonald had 16 points while Michael Campbell chipped in with 14 for the Dunn. Ethan Campbell had 16 points and Alec Ross 14 for the Huskies.

In preliminary games CASS defeated Bawating 65 -37, CASS beat SJD 48-46 and SJD defeated Bawating twice by scores of 51-46 and 45-40.
