The Soo Thunderbirds received shutout goaltending from Kolton Bourret and a pair of markers off the stick of Grayson Ebrahim to blank the Blind River Beavers 2-0 Friday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League contest at John Rhodes Community Centre.
A nice flip pass, out of their own territory saw a pair of Thunderbirds win the race down ice for the puck, with Jackson Truchan darting around the Beavers’ net and passing it in front to Ebrahim for his 10th tally of the season.
It was more from Ebrahim deep into the second stanza as he tipped in an attempt from Candon O’Neill, who had moved in from the left point.
Bourret posted his second shutout of the season, while winning his sixth straight start, helping the T-Birds raise their record to 13-4-2-1. The Beavers fell to 13-7-0-0 on the campaign.
