WEEK #5 RESULTS:

MYTE DIVISION

Lop Lops used a strong offensive performance from running back Aidan Macleod and a solid effort from linebacker Jeffrey Auger to hang on for a 35-28 victory over J.M.C Builders. Macleod scored three times for Lop Lops with Braedan Turco and Anthony Iacoe rounding out the scoring. J.M.C's Running Back Eric Lemieux scored on two impressive touchdown runs, while Raiden Oliver and Cade Nolan added one touchdown each.

Running back Quinn Barban and Quarterback Nicholas Trecoce scored two touchdowns a piece to lead Rezolution to a 35-14 victory over Community First. Running Back James White completed the scoring for Rezolution. Lauturo Frecha and Cameron Elgie scored one touchdown each for Community First.

TYKE DIVISION

In a see-saw battle between two tough teams, Rome's and Sports Gold finished their game tied 39-39. Aldechi Fenos continued his strong play for Rome's scoring four touchdowns. Matthew Mitchell and Marlon Imasogie completed the scoring with a touchdown a piece. Running back Raymond Houle used his amazing speed to score three times for Sports Gold. Wil Bell, Kyle Dionisi, and Matthew Cuglietta scored one touchdown each to round out the scoring for Sports Gold.

Joey Calzone's stingy defense showed up to play again as they defeated FlakeBoard 28-0. Running Back Luck Buck scored twice while teammates Casey Wright and Thomas Pratt scored one touchdown each. Flakeboard's Neil Shaule played a great game all around to earn him player of the game honours.

BANTAM DIVISION

Aurora's used their powerful offense and a timely onside kick to defeat Northshore Telus 50-37. Running backs David Quesnele and Tyler Vernelli led Aurora's Westside with four and three touchdown runs respectively. James Castelanni led Telus once again with three touchdown runs. Wide Receiver David McNally scored on two touchdown receptions from quarterback Mario Bruni and running back J.J. Parrott scored on a touchdown run for Telus.

A two point convert was the difference as Brody's survived a tough game 16-14 over Scholar's. Both teams defenses pounded the other teams offenses in a defensive dominated game. Linebacker Bryan Babic ran a punt back 95 yards for a touchdown and running back Justin Sauerzopf scored on a touchdown run for Brody's. Scholar's wide receiver Travis Ames scored on a 90 yard punt return of his own and Paul Muio rounded out the scoring for his team. Babic and fellow linebacker Rhys Mahler had stellar games on defense for Brody's, while linebackers Jared Theriault and Brett Tombari responded with solid defensive games for Scholar's.

TYKE DIVISION

In the first match up in the Tyke Division, an extra point by Sports Gold was the difference as they squeaked by Joey Calzone's 13-12. Peter Greve and Kyle Dionisi both had touchdowns for Sports Gold. Casey Wright had a strong game for Calzone's scoring on two touchdown runs.

Sal-Dan relied on their defense late in the game as they held on to defeat Rome's 34-26. Michael Nelson had another big game for Sal-Dan as he hit pay dirt four times. Vincent Caputo rounded out the scoring for Sal-Dan. Rome's running back Aldechi Fenos continued his strong play with three touchdowns with teammate Joey Fabiano rounding out the scoring with a touchdown of his own.

BANTAM DIVISION

Northshore Telus and Scholar's Learning played another hard fought game, but this time Telus came out on top with a 27-20 victory. James Castelanni continued his torrid scoring pace as he reached the end zone four times for Telus. Wide receiver Travis Ames scored twice for Scholar's and quarterback Bryan Greco completed the scoring with a touchdown run.

In what was a tight game at halftime, Aurora's dominated in the second half in a 40-20 victory over the Fire Fighters. David Quesnele had another strong performance with five touchdown runs. Tyler Vernelli scored on a touchdown run to complete the scoring. Joey Plastino scored all three touchdowns for Fire Fighters.
