*** COUGAR PROFILE OF THE WEEK:

Jeff Rennison

This week's Sault College profile belongs to Jeff Rennison of the Men's Basketball team.

Jeff is a third year veteran and the captain of the Cougars and his hoping that his experience will help lead the team down the playoff stretch.

He has achieved much success not only athletically, but academically as well. He is currently working on his second diploma in the in the Criminal Justice Program.

Rennison is a 6 foot 3 forward who can utilize his strength in the post and also hit from three-point range. Jeff truly excels though when the game is on the line and is known for making great defensive plays at critical times.

He knows his role and how to be an effective team player in every game situation. He is a spirited, vocal individual who leads by example and wants nothing short of success for the team.

Coach Cory stated that "Roper does the little things to help us win, such as hitting key shots, and he battles down low."

Rennison has won many awards for his athletic ability, and his dedication to basketball over the years.

A graduate of Korah Collegiate, his high school achievements include a two-time MVP, a three-time 1st team ALLSTAR, and a Referee Award winner.

At the college level, in his rookie year of post-secondary play (2002-2003), he captured two awards, Most Improved Player, and the Cougar Pride Award. During the last season he took home the honorary Tom White Award - an award was given to the individual with the most commitment and dedication to Men's basketball at Sault College.

Rennison, along with the rest of the talented Sault College men's basketball team will be hosting St. Clair College, Saturday January 28th at 2pm. See "Roper "and his teammates defend their 6-1 record!

*** SAULT COLLEGE SET TO BEGIN HOMESTAND:

Both Sault College Varsity teams begin a major home stint that will bring them to the end of the 2004/05 regular seasons.

With 5 leagues games left for both the Ladies Volleyball and Men's basketball team, both teams are optimistic going down the final stretch. The Lady Cougars are looking to have a respectable second half while the Men are trying to position themselves for a playoff position

Sault College will host a pair of Women's Volleyball games, and one basketball game this weekend.

The women look to improve their record of 2 and 8 as they host Humber College Friday January 28th at 8pm, followed by a game Saturday January 29th at 12pm against St. Clair College.

The men's game will immediately follow the volleyball match at 2pm. The men's team currently holds a solid 6 wins and only 1 loss, with a previous 4-point victory against St. Clair (3-3) in November. Please note the time changes!!!
