*** COUGAR PROFILE OF THE WEEK:

Connie Beausejour

This week's Cougar Profile belongs to Marathon native, Connie Beausejour, on the ladies volleyball team.

Standing at only five feet four inches, she is a dedicated team player, and hard working individual. A Liberal Studies/Police Foundations student, Beausejour is a veteran athlete, in her third year of the OCAA program. Connie is an all-around volleyball player, having assets such as quick speed, consistent serves, and solid passing.

In addition to her athletic talents, she has a positive team attitude She is a high-spirited, and well-liked individual, who keeps her teammates focused and enthused during games. Connie was a well-rounded athlete in High school where, in addition to volleyball, she played soccer, golf and basketball winning numerous awards and NSSSAA medals.

"She is one of the most versatile players on the team, she can play any position and does whatever is asked of her." Adds head coach Jeremy Murdoch, "She works hard all of the time, I get 100% effort in every practice and every game."

Before the Lady Cougars hang up their shoes for the Christmas holidays, you can catch Connie and her teammates as they host Fanshawe Falcons Friday December 3rd at 8 p.m., and Saturday December 4th at 1 p.m., in a double-header weekend.

*** COUGAR HOMESTAND:

The Sault College men's basketball team currently holds a record of 5-1, after this weekend's road trip.

The men defeated Redeemer College once again, but suffered a setback Friday when they lost to the OCAA's fourth ranked team, Niagara Knights.

The men have a difficult match up on Friday as they play the Algoma Thunderbirds in their final regular season game before the Christmas break. The game will take place Friday November 26, at 6 p.m. at the George Leach.

The Lady Cougars have one final set of league games before the holidays, as they will host the Fanshawe Falcons in a double-header weekend.

The volleyball matches will commence, Friday December 3rd at 8 p.m., and continue on Saturday December 4th at 1 p.m. The women are looking to improve their current record of 1-5, as they were unsuccessful this past weekend losing to Niagara College and Redeemer College.
