Despite playing in the sweltering heat, the Sault Sabercats turned up the heat in the second half to roll past the Cambridge Lions.
After falling behind 20-7 late in the third quarter, the Sabercats rallied for four touchdowns in the final 15:33 of play to lift themselves to a 35-20 win on Sunday afternoon at Rocky DiPietro Field.
The victory improves the Sabercats standing to 6-1 and a share of first place with the Essex Ravens in the Ontario Varsity Football League's Adam Division West.
Noah Rushon and Matt Premo paced the Sabercats with a pair of touchdowns each while Joe Storozuk added the other.
The Sabercats conclude the regular season on Saturday afternoon at Rocky DiPietro Field against the Huronia Stallions at 2 p.m.
A victory in that game would give the Sabercats the division title, a home field playoff game and a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
