This past week-end saw Sault Ste. Marie Tweens (12&13 year olds)sweep into Oshawa to bring home the Gold.

This was the first tournament for these girls this season and the first time playing any of these teams. With no one to play against in their age group in town, this would be interesting to see how they stacked up to the rest of the province.

Friday night saw the Sault match up with Nepean a well known ringette power club. An 8-1 victory by the Sault allowed them to breathe easy and evaluate their play. Riley Jo Linklater had the hat trick with Jenna Marsh and Haley Allen adding 2 each and Lesia Kinach with 1. Assists went to Maggie Kirkwood (3), Lesia Kinach (2) Kylie McAllister (2) and Riley Jo Linklater and Chelsea Pace 1 each.

Saturday morning playing Etobicoke, the Sault, with hard work and exceptional shots, won 4-1. Goals came from Haley Allen, Riley Jo Linklater, Lesia Kinach and Jessica Sidwell with assists from Lesia Kinach (2), Kylie McAllister, Danielle Brandow and our goalie Rachelle Graham.

Going full throttle Sunday morning had Sault Ste. Marie meeting Cambridge with a 7-0 victory. Rachelle Graham held Cambridge to no goals with the Sault scoring coming from Lesia Kinach (3), Riley Jo Linklater (2), Haley Allen and Danielle Brandow.

Sunday afternoon had undefeated Sault meeting Etobicoke for the final, where Etibicoke showed up to play. The Sault scored 3 shorthanded goals to win 3-2. Goal scorers were Riley Jo Linklater (2) Lesia Kinach (1) and Maggie Kirkwood with 3 assists.

Next tournament action for the team is in January.
