Just one week after Jerry Artuso won both the Modified and Late Model feature races at Laird International Raceway, Late Model driver Rick Leonard took the spotlight on Thursday night.

After watching Paul Seabrook take the fast car dash over Chris Furkey, Kevin Jackson, and Artuso, Leonard swept through the rest of the Late Model races, winning both heats as well as the feature.

Leonard beat out Furkey and Michael Gold for the first heat and then outraced Gold and Rod Bolduc for the heat two victory. In the feature Leonard held off charges by Gold, Jackson and Bolduc to earn the sweep.

After David Slingsby made his return a few weeks back, Steve Kent was the latest to make his return to the Factory Stock Division. Kent picked up a first and second place finish in the heat races before finish a close second in the feature race. Chris Jones won the second heat race and also won the feature. The feature win was Jones' first at Laird.

The Modified Division saw Artuso and Dennis Uhlman split the heat races before Jordan Sims ended Artuso's four-week wining streak by topping the veteran driver in the feature.

In the Stock Four Division, Tristan Anderson raced his Ford Pinto to a pair of heat victories. He pulled in with a third place finish in the feature race as Cody MacLean took top spot while Donny Mergeart took second place.

The feature win by Sims in the Modifieds also collected on a $250 bounty placed on Artuso for any racer who could top him in the feature. Artuso came into the week having won four features in a row.
