Praysner runs clean sweep at Laird

Jason Praysner proved to be too much to handle on Thursday night as the factory stock driver won all three races at Laird International Raceway.

Jason Praysner proved to be too much to handle on Thursday night as the factory stock driver won all three races at Laird International Raceway.

Starting near the back of the field in every race, Praysner worked his way to front using both the inside and outside of the track. In the feature, Praysner build a quarter track lead as he crossed the finish line for the chequered flag. Praysner also won both heat races.

With the victories, Praysner will build his lead on the top of the factory stock division points standings by collecting the maximum 40 points available. Heading into the night, Praysner held a one-point lead over David Slingsby.

Billy Kingston suffered a grade two concussion after a scary crash down the front stretch in the factory stock feature. Kingston became loose on turn four and crashed hard into the front stretch guardrail.

Final results and updated points standings will become available at www.lairdraceway.com once the results have been confirmed.

In the late model field, George Wilson returned from his one-week suspension with a vengeance by cruising to the late model feature victory. Rick Ellis won the night's only heat race.

Dennis Varcoe won his second feature of the year to begin the night in a make-up for last week's late model feature that was cut short after six laps when a bank of lights went out in turns one and two. Drivers completed the remaining 24 laps.

Pure stock points leader Ray Golladay, from Cottage Park, Michigan, won the division's special 25 lap feature while a pair of Michigan Sault drivers in Norman Miller and Mike Porcaro won the heat races.

Mike Baraluk turned in a break through performance in the stock four division by winning the feature event and the second heat race. Jeremy Van Hoek won the opening heat race.
