OHL set to drop the puck on second round of playoffs

With the Plymouth Whalers' 6-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires on Tuesday night, the pairings for the second round of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs were made official.

The Whalers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and the Spitfires could never recover as Plymouth captured the seventh game and deciding game of the western conference quarterfinal series. John Vigilante and Chris Terry scored two goals each to lead the Whalers.

The second round will begin with games on Thursday.

In the eastern conference, the Peterborough Petes face the Sudbury Wolves while the Brampton Battalion meet the Barrie Colts.

In the western conference, the London Knights, who swept the Soo Greyhounds in the first round, plays the Owen Sound Attack and Plymouth will face the Guelph Storm.
