The Soo North Stars have been the Great North Midget League's road warriors the past two seasons and this season hasn't started any differently.

The North Stars now sit at 4-0 on the season after cruising past the Kapuskasing Flyers during a pair of games on the weekend.

On Saturday night, the North Stars scored a 5-1 victory before following up with a 9-1 win on Sunday afternoon.

In Saturday's contest, Brett Perlini paced the North Stars' offense with a goal and three assists while Tyler Liukkonen added a goal and an assist. Singles went to Dean Howard, Trevor McNutt and Dan Vernelli.

On Sunday, Howard led the attack with two goals and two assists while Jerry Petingalo and Adam Pyymaki each added two goals and a helper. Brad DiCandia, Perlini and Vernelli scored a goal and an assist each.

Ryan Dube started and recorded the victory in goal for both games.

Next weekend, the North Stars visit the Valley East Cobras for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday nights.

Next home action for the locals is Oct. 8 and 9 when the Sudbury Nickel Capitals visit the John Rhodes Community Centre.
