The Soo North Stars dominance in the Great North Midget League has carried over into tournament play.
The GNML leaders have compiled a perfect 4-0 record and have advanced into semi-final action on Sunday after a pair of victories on Saturday at the Waterloo Gold Puck Tournament.
The North Stars completed their preliminary round action on Saturday morning with a 5-2 win over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Michael Sharp, Paul Dupont, Kyle Rodgers, Matt D'Agostini and Zac Torquato, with an assist, all scored for the North Stars.
The club then advanced into quarterfinal action on Saturday afternoon and blanked the Richmond Hill Stars 4-0. Dupont led the attack with two goals while singles went to Sharp and Jake McClelland.
The North Stars advance into semi-final action on Sunday at 8:15 a.m. against the hometown Waterloo Wolves.
On Friday, the North Stars opened the tournament with a 5-2 win over the Ottawa Sting before blanking the Halton Hurricanes 5-0.
