The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, and its Board of Governors, announced Thursday its plan to restart its regular season schedule early next month.
With the announcement made earlier today by the provincial government allowing the resumption of on-ice activities to commence on Jan. 31, the NOJHL looks to begin its return to play on Thursday, Feb. 3 with two games on the slate.
The Feb. 3 start date will allow each of the member clubs to return to the ice for a number of practice sessions prior to resuming play.
Those two match-ups would feature the Hearst Lumberjacks hosting the Cochrane Crunch and the Espanola Express visiting the Greater Sudbury Cubs in a pair of 7:30 p.m. starts.
An updated regular season schedule will be released by the NOJHL in the coming days, including the number of games that will be played by each team.
Further updates, including the league’s playoff format, will be announced by the league at a later date.
