Miller inks two-year deal with Jets

After getting acquired at the NHL trade deadline in March, Colin Miller is going to be spending a little more time in Winnipeg

After joining the Winnipeg Jets at the NHL trade deadline in March, Sault Ste. Marie's Colin Miller will remain in the Manitoba city when the new season kicks off in the fall.

The Jets announced Monday that Miller has signed a two-year deal with the club after the 31-year-old blueliner hit the free agent market.

The deal is worth $3 million with a salary cap hit of $1.5 million per season.

Miller was acquired by the Jets at the trade deadline in March from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a 2026 fourth round pick and had an assist in five games with Winnipeg.

Prior to the deal, Miller had four goals and eight points in 41 games with New Jersey.

New Jersey acquired the Sault product in a trade with the Dallas Stars on July 1 2023.

A veteran of 512 NHL games, Miller has 39 goals and 166 points through his NHL career, which has seen him spend time with the Boston Bruins, Vegas Golden Knights and Buffalo Sabres prior to his time with Dallas, New Jersey, and Winnipeg.
