The Greyhounds picked up a point but lost a game Friday night. Mike Stathopolus scored 2:57 into overtime to give the London Knights a 6-5 win over the Hounds before 2,836 fans at Memorial Gardens. The goal capped a come from behind effort for London, which had trailed 4-2 after two periods. London scored on six of only 29 shots at Hounds' goalie Adam Munro. Matt Herneisen led the Hounds with two goals. Jeff Carter, Sean Stefanski and Matt Puntereri also scored for the Soo. The Hounds will play host to former Soo coaches Dave Cameron, Bobby Jones and the Toronto St. Michael's Majors in a 6 p.m. game at the Gardens on Sunday. St. Mike's ran into a hot netminder in Sudbury on Friday. Wolves' goalie Marty Magers, acquired earlier in the day from the Owen Sound Attack, stopped 42 shots as the Wolves held St. Mike's to a 1-1 tie. Seven of Magers' saves came in overtime as Sudbury was outshot 7-1. Elsewhere, Sooite Chris Thorburn had his first goal in a Plymouth uniform as the Whalers doubled the Windsor Spitfires 4-2. Thorburn, a 19-year old centre, was picked up by Plymouth in a trade with the Saginaw Spirit last week.
