Local figure skaters place in Thunder Bay

Five local figure skaters turned in solid performances last weekend at the BMO Financial Group Sectionals Northern Ontario Region competition in Thunder Bay last weekend.

Sasha Ludavicius placed second while Jana Longo finished right behind in third place in the juvenile ladies division.

Kristen Hussey finished fifth in the pre-novice ladies final while Victoria Prouse finished seventh and Michela Febbraro eighth in the pre-novice ladies flight two.

For their efforts, Ludavicius, Longo and Hussey all advance to the Trillium Cup competition to be held in Guelph in March.

Hussey was also selected at the alternate in the pre-novice ladies class for the Western Challenge being held in Mississauga in December.
