The racing season is winding down at Kinross Speedpark and the season championship is up next.

Some area drivers enter the night with an opportunity to capture a points title.

Sault, Ont. driver John Carter is currently in a battle with fellow Sault driver Keenan Spurway atop the ABC Stock Car A-Division for the points title.

Carter heads into action on Friday with a slim four-point lead over Spurway, who is a former track champ at Kinross.

A points title by Carter would make him the fifth different champ in the past five years in the division.

Rob Wagner of Prince Township is looking to become the 15th different points champion in 16 years in the Four Cylinder Division.

Wagner enters Friday with a 12-point lead on a pair of drivers, including Sault, Ont. product Ken Fewchuk, who sits tied with John Wieman.

Todd Nyberg has set himself up nicely for a potential points title in the ABC Stock Cars B-Division with a comfortable 29-point lead on Buddy Palahnuk of Goulais River.

In the ABC Stock Cars C-Division, Gillian Howard hols a 12-point lead over Sault, Ont. driver Jon Diodati atop the division.

John Clawson leads the Modified Division heading into Friday by seven points. Steve Saddison is second while Dustin Jackson of Sault, Ont. is third.

Qualifying on Friday is set for 6 p.m. with racing set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
