Team Sutton Group skipped by Dan Lemieux has won the final NOCA berth to the KIACUP Provincial Men's Championship taking place in Nipigon.

The one-week playdown begins on Monday February 6.

Lemieux with third Garry Graham, second Sam Cormier, lead Ken Graham (all pictured) and fifth man Gordon Henderson join Al Harnden and Al Belec as the 3 team contingent representing the NOCA.

Harnden with Brad Jacobs, Dusty Jakomait and Rob Thomas and Belec with Jamie Broad, Tom Harris and Mike Wilcox had previously qualified as the # 1 and 2 reps by winning the Association playdowns held at the Idylewylde Club in Sudbury earlier this month.

This is the first time in history that 3 teams from Sault Ste. Marie and specifically Soo Curlers have represented the association at the provincials.

Lemieux after a heartbreaking loss to Belec in the association final, rebounded to defeat fellow Soo Curler Eric Harnden 7-4 in Sundays Challenge Round final.

Harnden was joined by Matt Dumontelle and his son E.J. and Ryan Harnden.

Enroute to victory, Lemieux disposed of 2-time Brier competitor Tim Phillips and NOCT money leader Jordan Chandler beating them each twice in the double knockout format.

A fundraiser will be held to help Team Lemieux offset their costs, Saturday February 4 at 2 pm at Soo Curlers. Tickets are $5.00 and are available at the curling club in advance or at the door.
