The best player on the Soo Junior Greyhounds will take his hockey-playing act south of the border to the Lake Superior State University Lakers next fall. High-scoring winger Jeff Rainville has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Lakers beginning next season. Rainville is leading the Junior Greyhounds and the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League in scoring with 36-25-61 totals. The Junior Hounds have won 14 straight and lead the NOJHL with a 21-3 record. Rainville has the potential to be a goal-scorer for the offensively challenged Lakers next season. "He's good with the puck, has good vision, passes well and shoots well," said Laker head coach Frank Anzalone. "He will have to get bigger and stronger and learn to play with the older players," Anzalone continued, "but he is a skill player."
