The St. Mary's Knights displayed a potent offensive attack to cruise to a High School Football League senior division victory over the Korah Colts on Saturday afternoon at Rocky DiPietro Field.

Scoring early and often, the Knights chewed up 339 rushing yards and 186 passing yards en route to the 59-14 win in the regular season opener for both teams.

Speedy receiver Mark Devuono opened the scoring on the Knight's first possession by hauling in a 44 yard touchdown pass from quarterback John Mullin. Jeff Pellegrino later added a 21 yard field goal for a 10-0 lead.

Greg Nanne gave the Colts some life late in the first quarter with a one yard touchdown run to close the score to 10-7.

But the Knights started to run away with game starting with the next possession.

Jeff Greco ran in a touchdown from four yards out, which was set up by a nifty 41 yard pass play to Devuono, Chris Lebel scampered for a 15 yard major, Devuono ran in a 73 yard touchdown on a reverse, Lebel scored two more touchdowns on a 14 yard run and a 27 yard reception, Andrew Baziuk caught a 12 yard touchdown pass and Jordan Casola ran for a 34 yard score.

Pellegrino booted six converts and Mike Esson ran in a two point convert after a fumbled snap.

Nanne scored another touchdown for the Colts on a 47 yard run. Daniel Ferris kicked both converts.

Greco led a balanced Knights rushing attack with 93 yards on nine carries and Lebel added 82 yards on 11 carries. Mullin completed seven on 14 passes for 186 yards including three to Devuono for 96 yards.

Mark Thorburn led the Knights defense with 6.5 tackles while Jordan Verdone added six, Dan Perri 4.5 and Jason Amadio 2.5 and a sack.

Nanne rushed for 81 yards on 12 carries to lead the Colts while Clint Cudmore added 58 yards on seven attempts. Defensively, Jordan Murtonen led with seven tackles and Christian Johnson six. Mitchell Zorzit and Cudmore each recorded a sack.

In junior division action on Saturday morning, St. Mary's shutout Korah 29-0.

Craig Rushon led the Knights with two touchdowns on runs of 25 yards and 12 yards while running in a two point convert. Mike Martens caught a 40 yard touchdown pass, Curtis Travaligni scored on an eight yard run and Ricky Lamon kicked three converts.
