Jr. Greyhounds sweep Cubs

A three-game weekend saw the Soo Jr. Greyhounds pick up three wins

The Soo Jr. Greyhounds returned home for three games and it was a successful three games.

Facing the New Liskeard Cubs, the Jr. Greyhounds picked up a sweep in Great North Midget League action.

On Friday night, Michael Chaffay had a pair of goals as the Jr. Greyhounds opened the weekend with a 6-2 win.

Gavin Ritacco and Ethan Esposito had a goal and an assist each while Dylan Szabo and Calem Mangone also scored for the locals.

Dean Chitaroni and Carter Richmond scored for New Liskeard.

On Saturday, five different players had goals in a 5-3 win by the Jr. Greyhounds. Mangone had a goa and an assist to lead the team offensively.

Szabo, Dylan Forsyth, Stephen Pszeniczny, and Ty Zachary also scored in the win.

Jackson Buffam and Benjamin White scored for New Liskeard.

On Sunday, Chaffay had a pair of goals in the opening period as the Jr. Greyhounds capped off the sweep with a 4-2 win.

Mangone and Ritacco also scored for the locals.

Richmond and Zachery Lajoie scored for New Liskeard.

Next action for the Jr. Greyhounds is Dec. 6 when the team opens up a three-game road trip against New Liskeard. The trip will also take the team to Timmins on Saturday and Kapuskasing on Sunday.
