Jr. Greyhounds grab two wins and a tie on the road

In eight games against the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves over two weekend, the Soo Jr. Greyhounds posted a 4-2-2 record

The first road trip of the season for the Soo Jr. Greyhounds was a successful one.

Split into two teams of 11 players, the Jr. Greyhounds were in Sudbury to take on the Nickel Capital Wolves in Great North Under-18 League action and returned home with two wins, a loss, and a tie.

Team White wrapped up the day Saturday evening with a 7-2 win.

The line of Lincoln Moore, Calem Mangone, and Cooper Foster combined for 12 points in the game. Mangone and Moore had three goals each while Foster had the other goal.

Returning netminder Noah Metivier picked up the victory.

Team Red opened evening action with a 2-2 tie.

Stephen Pszeniczny and Carmine Perna scored for the Jr. Greyhounds.

Earlier in the day, Team White picked up a 4-3 win thanks to a last-second goal by Adam Barone.  Foster, Pszeniczny, and Creo Solomon also scored.

In their first game of the day, Team Red dropped a 3-2 decision.

Carter Lidstone and Noah Aboflan scored for the Jr. Greyhounds in the contest, a game in which the team came back from a 2-0 deficit.

Terry See was in goal for Team Red.

In eight games against the Wolves over two weekends, the Jr. Greyhounds finished with a 4-2-2 record after posting a 2-1-1 record at home on Dec. 5.
