Jackson victorious on busy night at Laird

Jackson ran in two divisions on Friday night and performed well

It was a busy night at the track for Dustin Jackson but some success made it worthwhile at Laird Raceway on Friday night.

The veteran racer was behind the wheel of cars in both the modified and late model divisions on Friday night and ran strong features in both.

In the 30-lap modified feature, Jackson took the checkered flag ahead of John Ross and Josh Ware.

With a time of 15.104 seconds, Jackson qualified second in the modified division, just a shade behind Ware, who ran a top qualifying time of 15.032 seconds.

Jackson also picked up a heat win in the modifieds as well.

Roddy Bolduc won the other modified heat race.

Running in the late model division, Jackson turned in the top qualifying time at 14.437 seconds with Rob Hiiemaa qualifying second with a time of 14.664.

Jackson held off Hiiemaa in both heat races to take top spot.

Hiiemaa took top spot in the feature with Jackson finishing second.

Jerry Ross won the factory stock feature while also picking up a heat race win.

Ross was the top qualifier in the division with a time of 16.361 seconds.

Jonathan Diodati won the other factory stock heat.

Kayla Kurnell had a big day in the factory four division with a feature win to go along with taking top spot in both heat races.

The track is set to shift racenights to Thursday for the rest of the season, beginning on Aug. 1. Qualifying begins at 6 p.m. with racing to follow at 7 p.m.
