Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning hit 25 of 38 passes for 247 yards in today's Super Bowl, leading his team to the NFL title with a 29-17 win over Chicago Bears.

Manning, who threw one touchdown and one interception, was named most valuable player in the first Super Bowl to be fought in the rain.

Tony Dungy became the first black coach ever to win a Super Bowl, beating his friend Lovie Smith in the first Super Bowl to pit two black coaches against each other.

In another first, Bears rookie Devin Hester ran back 92 yards for a touchdown from the opening kickoff.
