Soo Greyhounds general manager Kyle Raftis announced this morning that the team has completed a trade with the Windsor Spitfires.
In the deal, the Greyhounds receive a 12th round pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection in exchange for defenceman Connor Toms.
Toms, a native of Sault Ste. Marie, was originally selected by the Greyhounds in the third round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. His father, Jeff Toms, was a member of the Hounds' 1993 Memorial Cup team.
Over the course of his career (2021-22 to present) he has appeared in 112 career regular season games, recording six goals and 22 assists for 28 points.
He had eight post-season appearances.
"We thank Connor for his contributions to the Soo Greyhounds and his hometown while wishing him all the best in Windsor," the Greyhounds said in a news release.
The latest transaction reduces the Greyhounds to seven active defencemen on the roster.
