The Soo Greyhounds continued their offensive explosion on Tuesday night in Sudbury.

Led by the two goal and two assist effort from captain Jeff Carter, the Greyhounds scored a convincing 7-3 win over the Sudbury Wolves.

After struggling to score for most of the young season, the Greyhounds have put seven goals on the board in their past two games.

On Tuesday, the Greyhounds opened a 2-0 lead after one period and led 5-0 after two periods.

Tyler Kennedy scored twice for the Hounds, Jason Pitton added another while Blair Jarrett and Jeff Larsh each scored into an empty net.

Brad Staubitz added three assists while the steadily improving Chris Lawrence setup two others and Larsh added one helper.

Bobby Chaumont, Ryan McDonough and Rafal Martynowski replied with a goal each for the Wolves.

Kyle Gajewski recorded the win goal and was named the game’s third star.

The Greyhounds played the game without overage forward Reg Thomas, who was assessed a two-game suspension by the Ontario Hockey League for instigating a fight in the last five minutes of the game on Sunday against Peterborough with his team leading by more than two goals.

Hounds defenseman Martin Tuma also faced a similar situation but was cleared by the league after determining that Tuma was not the aggressor in his late game fight.

The win improves the Hounds record to 7-8-3 for 17 points and second place in the west division, two points behind Windsor.

The Hounds return home to begin a two-game on Friday night at Memorial Gardens against the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors at 7:30 p.m. Sarnia visits on Sunday at 7 p.m.
