The Soo Greyhounds allowed three goals during a 41 second span in the first period and couldn't recover in a 6-3 loss to the Sarnia Sting on Thursday night.

The game marked the first in a three-game west division road swing for the Hounds. On Friday at 7:30 p.m., the Greyhounds visit the Plymouth Whalers before meeting the Saginaw Spirit on Sunday at 2 p.m.

After Dustin Jeffrey gave the Hounds the early lead with a power play goal, the Sting rallied to connect three times before the period was out.

Richard Clune scored with a two-man advantage at 17:08 before Jamie Fraser added another power play goal 14 seconds later. Just 27 seconds after that, Jared Gomez put the Sting ahead 3-1 by beating Hounds netminder Kyle Gajewski.
