Hounds rebound to double up 67's

After giving up a 2-0 lead in the third period, the Hounds rebounded with two late goals to beat the 67's 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action in front of 7,844 fans at the Ottawa Civic Centre.

Colt King scored the game winner for the Greyhounds with 5:30 remaining in the third period. Following the goal, King was assessed a gross misconduct and tossed from the game.

Despite his night ending on a sour note, King, who will likely face further discipline from the league, was named the game's third star.

Scott Dobben opened the scoring for the Greyhounds just nine seconds into the contest. Jeff Carter scored his 18th and 19th goals of the year on the power play in the second period while adding an empty net goal late in the third period.

Jordan Smith and Jeff Doyle recorded two assists each for the Greyhounds. Bryan Bickell and Matthew Albiani scored for Ottawa.

Jakub Cech had an outstanding game in net for the Hounds and was named the game's first star after stopping 36 of 38 shots.

Hounds defenseman Mike Looby may also have a meeting with the commissioners office after being assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for charging in the second period.

The Greyhounds improve their record to 15-10-1-1 and maintain a hold on top spot in the OHL's West Division.

The team will conclude their four-game road trip on Tuesday night against the Sudbury Wolves at 7:30 p.m. before returning home for a date with the Brampton Battalion on Friday night at Memorial Gardens beginning at 7:30 p.m.

In other OHL action on Sunday, David Bolland scored twice as the London Knights hammered Brampton 6-1. Sudbury remains in search of their first road victory of the season after falling 5-2 to the Toronto St. Michael's Majors. Tim Brent and Cory Vitarelli scored two goals each for the Majors.

Kingston and Mississauga played to a 2-2 tie, Erie and Saginaw skated to a 3-3 draw, Kitchener and Guelph battled to a 3-3 tie while Oshawa and Belleville played to a 4-4 tie.
