With the team desperate for wins, the Soo Greyhounds squeaked out a 1-0 victory over the Sudbury Wolves on Tuesday night in the Nickel City.

In a fight for their playoff lives, the Greyhounds have responded with four wins in their last five games including two against Sudbury.

On Tuesday, Travis Chapman scored the game's lone goal 7:32 into the third period with the Greyhounds enjoying a two-man advantage.

Greyhounds goaltender Kevin Druce, who made his fifth consecutive start, was solid throughout and stopped all 26 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season and the game's first star selection.

Wolves goaltender Patrick Ehelechner kicked aside 29 of 30 shots and was named the second star.

With the win, the Greyhounds improve to 26-29-3-1 for 56 points and jump two points ahead of the Windsor Spitfires, who have three games in hand, for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Ontario Hockey League's Western Conference with nine games remaining in the regular season.

The Greyhounds are back in action this weekend with a pair of games on the road. The Hounds are in Plymouth on Friday evening before visiting Saginaw on Saturday night.

The team returns home on Friday, February 27 against Windsor before entertaining the Sarnia Sting two days later.
