The Soo Greyhounds find themselves backed into a corner after suffering a game two loss on Friday night in London.

After trailing 4-0, the Greyhounds closed the gap to a single goal but the London Knights potted two more goals to take a 6-3 victory and a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Ontario Hockey League western conference quarterfinal series.

The series shifts to Sault Ste. Marie for games three and four on Sunday and Tuesday. Game times are 7 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.

David Bolland opened the scoring with 36 seconds remaining in the first period on the power play before the Knights tallied three more goals to lead 4-0 after 40 minutes of play. Josh Beaulieu, Rob Schremp and Robbie Drummond provided the Knights offense.

In the third period, the Greyhounds came back fighting as Scott Restoule put his team on the board with a power play marker at 4:26. Ryan Kitchen scored his second goal of the series 30 seconds later and Brandon MacLean closed the gap to 4-3 with a goal at 6:46.

But the potent Knights offense was able to seal the victory with a power play goal from Adam Perry with 3:47 remaining in regulation time. Bolland added an empty net goal in the closing seconds.

Knights goaltender Adam Dennis was selected as the game's first star as the Hounds peppered the London net with 46 shots. Kyle Gajewski faced 25 shots in goal for the Hounds.

Restoule, the second star, and MacLean each added a assist. Dylan Hunter set up three goals for the Knights and Schremp a pair.

*** LAMBERT HOLDING FUNDRAISER FOR ALEXIE BOUFFARD:

Greyhounds Assistant Coach Denny Lambert and his wife, Rhonda, are set to kick off their "With help from our friends" campaign at the Greyhounds first two playoff home dates: Sunday, March 26th and Tuesday, March 28th.

This campaign is geared to raising funds to help 3-year old Alexie Bouffard from Wawa, ONTARIO. The young girl is currently receiving treatment for a rare form of cancer.

Fans will have the opportunity to make a donation at a designated table set-up in the lobby of Memorial Gardens during both of those games. With each $5 donation, the fan will receive a ballot to be entered with the chance of winning an autographed jersey or puck.

The signed jerseys available to be won include Denny Lambert (OTT), Chris Simon (CGY), Jarome Iginla (CGY), Paul Kariya (NAS), Ottawa Senators (signed by Spezza, Alfredsson and Heatly) andSoo Greyhounds (signed by team).
