Excitement is building at the Downtown Plaza in Sault Ste. Marie with the first Greyhound Fan Zone scheduled for Friday, Nov. 17. Fans can look forward to an enhanced game-day experience thanks to the introduction of a new Fan Zone.
Beginning at 5 p.m. before every Greyhound home game (weather permitting), fans can kick off the festivities at the Downtown Plaza with a pre-game party serviced by a licensed mobile retail unit.
Greyhound pre-game television will be broadcast on the big screen and snacks will be available for purchase.
Then, shortly before each game, fans can take the "Hound Hike" up Queen Street to the GFL Memorial Gardens. Sault Transit also provides free transit service to the plaza for individuals with a valid ticket and returning home at the conclusion of the game at the GFL Memorial Gardens.
“With these exciting additions to Greyhounds game days, fans can expect an even more memorable and enjoyable game day experience,” said Brent Lamming, director of community services. “It's a winning combination of pre-game festivities, community spirit, and responsible transportation options that will make every Greyhound game an event to remember.”
Additional Soo Greyhound theme events planned at the plaza include meeting the Soo Greyhounds Monday, Dec. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. Let's come together and support our Greyhounds.
