Hounds fall victim to Attack

The Soo Greyhounds early season struggles continues.

Despite a solid effort by goaltender Jakub Cech, the Greyhounds dropped a 2-1 decision to the Owen Sound Attack to fall to 0-4 on the young Ontario Hockey League season.

Cech stopped 40 of 42 shots in net for the Hounds and was named the game's second star.

The Hounds also played their second game without star forward and captain Jeff Carter, who suffered an injury in practise last week.

Sault product Patrick Jarrett scored the winner for the Attack on the power play to break a 1-1 tie with 4:35 remaining in regulation time.

In the first period, Wes Cunningham gave the Attack an early lead 6:09 into the contest before Hounds rookie Ryan McInerney scored his second of the year to tie the game late in the frame.

The Greyhounds will look for their first win on Wednesday as they begin a three-game homestand against the Sarnia Sting at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
