************************* Kantor, Sullivan become newest Hounds
The Soo Greyhounds completed two more deals on Monday, heading into the OHL trade deadline.
In the first transaction the Hounds acquired right-winger Michael Kantor from the Saginaw Spirit along with a second round pick in the 2014 OHL priority selection, a fourth round pick in the 2012 OHL priority selection and a sixth round pick in the 2013 OHL priority selection in exchange for third-year defenceman Brandon Archibald.
Kantor, a Lake Forest IL native, is currently in his second season with the Spirit after being signed as a free agent in January 2010.
In 35 games played he has 8 goals and 5 assists to go along with 85 penalty minutes.
The 6', 198 pound forward was a participant in the Columbus Blue Jackets rookie camp prior to the 2010-11 campaign.
While in the team’s third transaction of the day, the Hound acquired overage defenceman Brent Sullivan from the Windsor Spitfires along with a second round pick in the 2015 OHL priority selection, a third round pick in the 2013 OHL priority selection, a fourth round pick in the 2012 OHL priority selection and a 10th round pick in the 2014 OHL priority selection in exchange for overage forward Jake Carrick.
Sullivan, a Carp, ON native, is in the midst of his fourthOntario Hockey League season.
With today’s transactions the Greyhounds roster unofficially sits at 24 players: twogoalies, eight defencemen and 14 forwards.
David Broll, Michael Kantor, Brent Sullivan and the Hounds will continue their current home stand this coming weekend when they play host to the Saginaw Spirit this coming Friday, January 14.
