A pair shutout goaltending performances highlighted high school hockey action on Thursday night.

In the opening game, Kevin Sawyer recorded the shutout as the White Pines Wolverines defeated the Bawating Braves 6-0. Josh Reed, Jamie Ishmael, Chris DiPaulo, Corey Wensley, Tommy Swystun and Matt Ritchie scored for the Wolverines.

In the second contest, Stephane Bouliane scored with 1:28 remaining to lift the Sir James Dunn Eagles to a 1-0 win over the Korah Colts. John Ellis recorded the shutout for SJD while D.J. Gagne had a stellar game in net for the Colts.

Action resumes on Friday with a pair of games at the John Rhodes Community Centre. St. Basil plays Central Algoma Secondary School at 7 p.m. followed by St. Mary's and White Pines at 8:45 p.m.

*** WEDNESDAY, NOV. 10:

In action from Wednesday, Anthony Spina scored twice to lead St. Basil past Korah 7-2. Nick DiCandia, Tom Loza, Steve Luxton, Frank D'Addetta and Mike Dias also scored for the winners. Daniel Ferris and Jourdan Morin scored for the Colts.

In another game, Jordan Rochetta, Vinnie Scornaienchi, Anthony Amadio and Dan Esson scored to lead the St. Mary's Knights past the CASS Huskies 4-1. Jordan Dominey replied with the lone goal for the Huskies.
