The St. Mary's Knights squeaked out a victory and cruised to a junior win in High School Girls Basketball League action on Tuesday. In the senior contest, Jessica Sicoly scored a game high 19 points to lead the Knights past the Korah Colts 42-41 on home court. Trisha Mazzotta added seven points for the Knights while Katrina Huopalainen replied with 12 points and Shannon Penfold nine for the Colts. In the junior game, Kira Favaro scored 18 points to lead St. Mary's past Korah 42-17. Sarah Fortais and Katie Antler scored four points each for Korah. At Mount St. Joseph College, Stephanie Thayer scored 14 points and Kristen Timusk 10 to lead Bawating past the Royals 46-44. Jessica Stone drained 28 points for the Mount while Heather Lewis added seven. Vanessa Chaimbrone's 15 points and Kirsty Mancuso's 14 paced the Royals to a 46-34 win over the Braves in the junior contest. Amanda Whitmell answered with 14 points and Sarah Crispell 10 for the Braves. Results from the Sir James Dunn at White Pines games were not reported. The undefeated St. Basil Saints enjoyed a bye. Action continues Thursday, as White Pines travels to St. Basil, Bawating hosts St. Mary's and Sir James Dunn will entertain the Mount while Korah has a bye.
