Sooites will be watching closely the efforts of Brigitte Acton early next year when the Sault Ste. Marie native participates in the 2006 Winter Olympics.

If your child wants to follow in Brigitte’s footsteps and the footsteps of other top level ski racers this city has produced over the past years they can!!

The Searchmont Ski Runners will be holding a program meeting this Thursday at 7 o’clock at the John Rhodes Community Centre. The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place in the upstairs meeting room situation between the pool and arena.

SSR has programs available for children as young a six years of age. The entry level program allows participating for children aged 6 through 13. The program will teach your child the fundamentals required to become a ski racer.

The higher level “Kinder” program covers age 11 to 14.
