The Soo Greyhounds were rewarded with another two points on Thursday night after Tyler Kennedy bagged the game winner in a shootout.

Kennedy's goal credited the Hounds with a 4-3 road win over the Toronto St. Michael's Majors in a game that was delayed by poor weather conditions in the area.

The victory, to open a three-game Ontario Hockey League road trip before the holiday break, marks another strong performance by the club and their second consecutive win. The Hounds improve to 11-20-2 on the season.

Just 14 seconds after the puck dropped at 8:05 p.m., Dustin Jeffrey scored to give the Hounds and early 1-0 lead.

The Majors wasted no time in clawing back as Tyler Haskins notched his 19th and 20th goals of the season just 1:33 apart for a 2-1 St. Mike's lead before the game had reached the three minute mark.

Late in the second period, the Greyhounds regained the lead with goals 15 seconds apart starting with Jacob King's marker at 13:49. Kennedy (pictured) added the other for a 3-2 advantage.

Just 1:34 after Kennedy's goal, Justin Donati tied the game for the Majors with Hounds defenseman Brad Good sitting in the penalty box serving an interference penalty.

After a scoreless third period and five minutes of overtime, the teams headed to a shootout.

The Hounds Cody Thornton was stopped on the first shot while Donati put the Majors ahead 1-0. Scott Restoule answered for the Hounds on the next attempt while Greyhounds goaltender Kyle Gajewski then stopped the Majors Cory Vitarelli.

After Kennedy scored on the Hounds final shot, Gajewski came up big with a save on Haskins to secure the win.

Gajewski stopped 36 of 39 shots for the win while the Hounds peppered Majors goaltender Ryan Nie with 47 shots.

The Greyhounds will be back in action on Friday against the Guelph Storm at 7:30 p.m. before wrapping up the trip on Sunday in Kitchener at 6 p.m.
